6 DAYS SAHARA DESERT & DUNES

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate- M’Hamid- Ras N’khal

After breakfast, we will take the road towards Ouarzazate through the Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2260m. We will admire the panoramic view of the High Atlas Mountains and we will continue by Col Ait Saoune, to arrive in the famous Draa Valley, before joining the small town of M’Hamid. This is where we will meet our team of camel drivers. We will walk about one hour before setting up our camp in the middle of the Ras N’khal dunes. 7 hours of road and 1 hour of walking.

Day 2: Ras N’Khal – Sidi Naji

We follow the Wadi Drâa, almost always dry in this part, between palm groves and tamarisks. We will walk in beautiful landscapes, with the crossing of the plateau of Sidi Naji before joining the Erg of the same name. Setting up our camp in the dunes.Night under the tents.5 hours of walk in the day.

Day 3: Sidi Naji – Erg Zaher

We will leave the dunes of Sidi Naji to approach the large desert areas. As far as the view goes, the dunes fill the landscape and we will arrive at the big dunes of Erg Zaher. Walks in the dunes overlooking the Drâa Valley. Night under the tents. 5h30 walk in the day.

Day 4: Erg Zaher – Erg Ait Ounir

After breakfast, we will head north and Ait Ounir. It will be a beautiful day in varied landscapes between dunes, tamaris and acacias. Animation planned around the fire with Berber music. Night under the tent or under the stars. 5 hours of walking for this day.

Day 5: Erg Ait Ounir – M’Hamid

We will climb the dunes of Erg Ait Ounir and this new day of hiking in the dunes will end in Ras N’khal, located at the entrance to the palm M’Hamid. A great place to spend the night. 5h30 walk.

Day 6: M’Hamid – Zagora – Marrakech

After a short walk of one hour, we will join our minibus near the small town of M’Hamid. The return trip will be done all along the Oued Draa Valley. We arrive late afternoon in Marrakech. 460 Km.
